Thankfully though once Ant's set starts the audience falls silent.

Somehow his set seems bolder than the last time I saw him, and I'm not just talking of the accompaniment of occasional violin and mixing by Darren - singer from Ant's other vehicle Hefner. Any more people on stage and you could accuse him of having a band but this is still very much Ant's show.

His songs seem brighter, more melodic than I remembered. Maybe it was working in the studio that has brought this out in them (Ant has a single out now on some appropriately obscure record label). I'm really not sure where he's taking this though. For someone writing for himself he seems to taken very seriously. Still, I guess he can afford the luxury of seeing
